This stir-fried cauliflower recipe is a lighter and faster alternative to roasted cauliflower and completely dairy-free. The cauliflower florets are steamed for only a few minutes, then followed by a very quick stir fry to infuses the beautiful aroma of turmeric and garlic.
STIR-FRIED CAULIFLOWER WITH TURMERIC

VEGAN / GLUTEN-FREE / QUICK DISH

Ingredients
- 3 to 4 cups of cauliflower florets (1 medium cauliflower)
- 4 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- a pinch of salt
Method
- Steam the cauliflower over boiling water until you can just poke a folk through the florets, about 5 minutes. Immediately remove the cauliflower from heat to avoid overcooking.
- Heat a wok, add the oil, garlic, turmeric and salt, sauté until fragrant, about 10 seconds. Add the cauliflower florets and stir to mix with the aromatics, for 1 minute or until the cauliflower reaches your preferred softness.
Recipe Notes
- If OK to finish steaming even if the cauliflower still feel a little undercooked. You can always stir fry for a couple of more minutes to make sure the cauliflower is cooked through.
- If your have a small steamer, toss the florets with a folk once or twice during steaming to ensure even cooking.
